Street Closures

and Traffic Impacts

Washington Street and Wabash Avenue Intersection Closed THIS WEEKEND, March 17 -20, 2017

 

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced that the intersection of Washington Street and Wabash Avenue will be closed this weekend beginning at9pm this Friday, March 17 through 6am on Monday, March 20, for construction of the new elevated Washington-Wabash CTA Station.

 

This critical weekend outage is necessary in order to complete a large portion of the platform work items while the CTA is under out-of-service conditions.

 

Detour Information:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on Washington will be detoured eitherleft or right on State Street, back to aneastbound trip resumingon Lake or Monroe Streets.
  • Local access from State Street will be accommodated for deliveries and patrons needing access to Holden Court. Garland Court will have full access from Randolph and will service the valet at mid-block on Washington.

 

CTA Track Outage Information

Due to the work, there will be a 50 hour track outage impacting Brown, Orange, Green and Pink line trains, beginningat10pmthis Friday, March 17 until4amonMonday, March 20.
